In the season 2016/2017 we supported the release of the book Opera nehryzie! (Opera does not bite!) by Martin Vaněk. We believe that it is very important to influence people to experience opera, especially the youngest ones. Music brings great value to our lives and we are certain, that opera has its essential place amongst the performance arts. However, it is not uncommon that people perceive opera as something suited only for a specific group. The great summarisation of the book’s benefits is the part of article (you can read it here in slovak) by Ludovít Vongrej:
“Why go to the theatre at all! And to opera! Is opera a bogeyman? Who thinks that? The new publication on the book market is playful and it invites in a funny way to the magical world of opera and its backstage to educate and help bring children to the unrepeatable world of theatre .”
