From the very start, our entrepreneurial effort has concentrated around one simple strategy: To arouse the interest and to show the allure of natural sciences to the next generation.

Afterschool math clubs on primary and secondary schools

We are running the pilot phase of the project in which we want to reintroduce the after school mathematic clubs to primary and secondary schools in Slovakia. Unfortunately interest in mathematics and natural and technical sciences has dropped in recent years. Just a small fraction of students are deciding to take final exam in mathematics. Technical and natural sciences at universities in Slovakia are struggling with low interest by the students. It will be a long journey to change this trend. The key element of changing the attitude of the kids must be the change of their relationship to mathematics. Pilot project is run in close cooperation with United School Novohradska, Bratislava, Slovakia and NGO P-MAT members.

P-MAT is an NGO focusing on education and work with talented kids in area of mathematics and physics. P-MAT organizes postal competition Pikomat (Math), Pikofyz (Physics) and mathematical competition Matboj.
